Well, I’ve put it off for six and a half years now, but I just can’t take our pickled oak cabinets any longer. In the near future, I’m going to take all 42(!) doors and drawer fronts off and paint them some shade of beautiful light gray. To get me more in the mood to actually start this feat, I have found myself browsing gorgeous gray kitchens almost every evening. So, here are a dozen of my favorites for your viewing pleasure, and to inspire you if you’re thinking non-white for your kitchen as well!
Stay tuned for further plans for this project in the next few weeks, including what colors I’m thinking, what my plan of action will be, and some mood boards for the new look! Just six years overdue :)

Love the look of gray cabinets! Can’t wait to see what you do with your kitchen!
Thanks Amy!!! I’m so scared to get started but know it will be SO much better!
I have pickled cabinets in my kitchen that also need refreshing…looking forward to names of colors and brands of paint.
I finally got around to painting ours in June Katherine, see the full reveal and all about what color and how I painted ours here:
What color did you use & paint brand?
I ended up using Sherwin-Williams’ “Repose Gray” for our cabinets. You can see the end result HERE :)
